Under His Wings

Through a recent trial in my life of really trusting the Lord...he has repeatedly given me scriptures about being under the shadow his wings. He has referred me to his word that says that I shall find refuge in him.

Ruth 2:12 (New King James Version)
12 The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

Psalm 36:7 (New King James Version)
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.

Psalm 63:7 (New King James Version)
7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

Psalm 91:4 (New King James Version)
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Can we say AMEN to these scriptures?

Today- find shelter in his wings...find rest in Daddy's arms...find the love that you need to protect you from this harsh world. Jesus loves you so much. More than we will ever know..but receive it today...it's available for you!

Hide N Seek

Hide n Seek

This used to be one of my favorite childhood games. I remember playing all hours of the night when I was younger…we would get a huge group of neighborhood kids together to play. As the sun went down, we would hide behind cars or houses, waiting to be sought after. We would run to “safety” when we felt bold enough to take a chance of coming out of our hiding spot.

Last year around this time, I had the great honor of speaking at a women’s luncheon at my Aunt’s church. God had selected me as one of the women to share his heart about how he created them. It was such a blessing. The title of the luncheon/conference was called “Hide n Seek.” I hadn’t really thought much about the title until the Lord reminded me of it, the other day…almost a year later. God’s timing is something that amazes me. He definitely doesn’t operate on the same clock that we do, amen?
I woke up and heard the words, “Hide N Seek.” I was still half asleep as I let my Dog out and went in my bathroom to begin my day. I heard the words again, clear as day… “Hide N Seek.” I knew it was the Lord speaking to me. I meditated on the words as I carried on with getting ready for work. The Lord showed me that we are to be as children with him…we are to HIDE in him….his word says in Psalm 17:8 that he “keeps me as the apple of his eye, he HIDES me under the shadow of his wings.”
Another scripture says that we are HIDDEN in Christ (Colossians 3:3). Why does he want us to hide? Does he want to punish us and keep us isolated? NO. Does he want to keep us from having fun with our friends? NO. Is he being selfish by wanting us to hide with him and spend time with him? Absolutely NOT. Then why? I will tell you why..it’s because it is in the hidden or secret place of his presence that we find rest for our souls. He is actually protecting us too…in Psalm 27:5 it says, “For in the time of trouble He shall HIDE me in his pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall HIDE me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
It also says, in Psalm 31:20 that God shall HIDE them in the secret place of his presence, from the plots of man; He shall keep them (us) secretly in a pavilion, from the strife of tongues.
He is a protective Daddy.
How can a Father express his protection for his children? Can he sit back as he watches them exhaust themselves? Should he back off as he see’s their tears from yet another disappointment? I don’t think so. Instead, God, our LOVING Father, takes us by the hand and whispers gently, “Come away my beloved”…”Spend time with me”, “Let me clean you off”, “Let me heal your wounds.”
When we shower are we doing it out in the public with every eye to see? Or are we hiding behind closed doors..privately (SECRETLY)? It’s like this with God. When he cleanses us, he does it secretly…he wants that intimate time with us. When married couples make love to one another, are they doing it out in the open where all eyes can see? Or are they doing it in the privacy of their own home?
Think about it.
God wants us to hide with him…to enjoy his presence, alone..be intimate with him…just talk to him and be real. He knows what we have need of even before we ask, but how much better to HEAR what his bride has to say?
The second part of this is to SEEK his face. Hide AND Seek. The bible says in Psalm 9:10, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For you, LORD, have not forsaken those who SEEK You.” In another Psalm…27:4, it says, “One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I SEEK: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.” I believe that this Psalm is actually talking about the presence of the Lord…to inquire in his temple…to dwell in his house…
Whose house are you dwelling in lately?
When we hide in his presence, we shouldn’t be inactive, we should be seeking his face. When the storms of life come and our houses or temples (our bodies) are hit on every side, where are you looking for shelter? Sure, it’s easy to hide and find refuge in other things…movies, video games, even other people…but if we are going to hide, it should be in CHRIST. Sure, it’s easy to seek and seek fulfillment in other things, like music, drugs, alcohol, lust, etc…but what we should be seeking is CHRIST. He is the answer to all of our problems. All of the other avenues will lead to self destruction.
I know from personal experience, I can be a great hider…even when playing the kids game (hide n seek) back in the day, I was good at it…but instead of running and hiding, let us hide and seek our creator’s face and allow him to do the work that needs to be done in us.
Lastly, my brothers and sisters, let us do as Psalm 105:3-4 says, “GLORY IN HIS HOLY NAME; LET THE HEARTS OF THOSE REJOICE WHO SEEK THE LORD! SEEK THE LORD AND HIS STRENGTH; SEEK HIS FACE EVERMORE!” Amen.

Footprints in the Snow

As I walked into work this morning, the ground was covered with snow. I saw a set of footprints infront of me that led up to the stairs of the Quad. I noticed that two sets of footprints intertwined. One set when one way and the other, the opposite way. I love when the Lord illuminates things in the natural to teach me a lesson in the spiritual. I heard him say, "Which set will you follow?" I know that he didn't mean which set of footprints will I physically follow, but which path will I take for my future? His or my own? The flesh wars against the spirit..the two are constantly at war with each other. We cannot please both the flesh and the spirit. We need to rise up and walk in the spirit at all times. It is NOT easy, let me tell you. I think we all know this...at least the ones that have walked in the spirit. But what great rewards there are to those that do!! Hallelujah!
As I meditated on what he had showed me, I began to think about how easy it is to walk in our own ways. There is a scripture that says, "The ways of a man seem just to him, but the end of that way is destruction." I can honestly tell you that this is so true!
I've learned over the last few years and especially recently, to surrender ALL to God..I just want what he wants for me. I am DONE trying to do things on my own. I want his path of peace and joy..his path of love and mercy...I want to follow HIM all the days of my life.
Jeremiah 17:7-10 says,
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear[b] when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
9 “ The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the LORD, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings."

A prayer for today: Rejoice always and again I say rejoice...Lord, you are always good. Your love and your mercy endures forever. Help us to choose YOUR path and YOUR will for our lives. I tell the flesh to get out of the way! Help us to see with spiritual eyes and to know the way to walk in, as we hear your voice say "this is the way, walk in it." Lead us in the way everlasting. I pray for CLEAR DIRECTION for all of your children reading this and for GREAT expectancy to rise up in every believer's heart as we seek you out today, Father. Let your WILL be done, YOUR Kingdom come, on Earth as it is in Heaven! GLORY TO YOU GOD! In the name of Jesus, amen!

A Child is Born

Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Jesus, I thank you for coming to this world, in a lowly manger...it was most likely stinky and cold...it wasn't a nice hospital room like I was born in. One with heat and bright lights. It was probably dark..
Your mother, Mary, wasn't laying on a comfortable bed, with blankets and nurses to comfort her...instead, she was laying on a hard ground with some hay.
Your ways are a mystery to men and women, however they are so much higher than ours. You humbly came as a baby in a manger to save a lost and dying world. I thank you for what you have done for me, Lord. You are so precious. Born a King- THE KING OF KINGS- you came in the most humble way..yet are exalted in the most GLORIOUS way!! I praise you and bless you, Dear Savior and Friend. You are everything to me..

A prayer for this Christmas season:
Father in Heaven, have your wonderful way..I ask you to touch all those that need comforting at this moment, God. Bring them peace and joy. I pray that where there is need, that you meet them all according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus. Give us compassion for one another..let us give a helping hand where we can..and let us keep our eyes on you no matter what. You are ALL powerful, ALL knowing and ALL present...thank you so much. I give you control of every area of my life. I surrender all and lay down my crown to you..Alpha and Omega, beginning and end. I love you. <3

DO GOOD!

Do Good. That's simple enough, right? Wrong. How many of you know that there is an enemy out there seeking to DEVOUR you?! Well, there is. The bible says that the devil roars about like a lion, seeking whom he may devour. It also says that he comes to steal, kill and destroy. Ever feel like you are on top of the world one minute and then the next, it feels as though a flood came and wiped you out? There is a scripture that says, "when the devil comes in like a flood, the Lord raises a standard against him!"
I was reading 1 Peter 3, this morning. This part really stuck out to me:
1 Peter 3:8-13
8Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10For,
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?

I've heard so many people say that it's easier to do bad than it is to do good. Sure...because doing bad is pleasing to our flesh. But we are to please God...and therefore crucify our flesh and walk in the spirit. Our spirit wars against the lust of the flesh. The two are constantly against one another.
There are many scriptures that I could ramble off right now, but I am praying that God is speaking to you about putting him first. Putting the flesh under and rising above! "Though the outward man perish, the inner man is renewed day by day." AMEN!

A prayer for you today:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that whoever is reading this right now..will feel your holy spirit stronger than ever before. I ask you Father, for a revelation of your power inside of them. Speak to their very being this morning. I ask you Lord, that you would open their eyes and ears of understanding for what it is that you wish to get across to them today. Let this message resonate in their hearts and minds. Help us to crucify the flesh and anything that would war against our spirit and RISE ABOVE, in the name of Jesus, we thank you Lord. Amen!! XO
