Footprints in the Snow

As I walked into work this morning, the ground was covered with snow. I saw a set of footprints infront of me that led up to the stairs of the Quad. I noticed that two sets of footprints intertwined. One set when one way and the other, the opposite way. I love when the Lord illuminates things in the natural to teach me a lesson in the spiritual. I heard him say, "Which set will you follow?" I know that he didn't mean which set of footprints will I physically follow, but which path will I take for my future? His or my own? The flesh wars against the spirit..the two are constantly at war with each other. We cannot please both the flesh and the spirit. We need to rise up and walk in the spirit at all times. It is NOT easy, let me tell you. I think we all know this...at least the ones that have walked in the spirit. But what great rewards there are to those that do!! Hallelujah!
As I meditated on what he had showed me, I began to think about how easy it is to walk in our own ways. There is a scripture that says, "The ways of a man seem just to him, but the end of that way is destruction." I can honestly tell you that this is so true!
I've learned over the last few years and especially recently, to surrender ALL to God..I just want what he wants for me. I am DONE trying to do things on my own. I want his path of peace and joy..his path of love and mercy...I want to follow HIM all the days of my life.
Jeremiah 17:7-10 says,
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear[b] when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
9 “ The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the LORD, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings."

A prayer for today: Rejoice always and again I say rejoice...Lord, you are always good. Your love and your mercy endures forever. Help us to choose YOUR path and YOUR will for our lives. I tell the flesh to get out of the way! Help us to see with spiritual eyes and to know the way to walk in, as we hear your voice say "this is the way, walk in it." Lead us in the way everlasting. I pray for CLEAR DIRECTION for all of your children reading this and for GREAT expectancy to rise up in every believer's heart as we seek you out today, Father. Let your WILL be done, YOUR Kingdom come, on Earth as it is in Heaven! GLORY TO YOU GOD! In the name of Jesus, amen!
